Fried Gefilte Fish

See here for my latest article, this one on fried gefilte fish.

For those who don't know, gefilte fish is a Jewish dish of poached, ground fish. Fried gefilte fish is the same thing, but fried, and therefore that much more awesome.

Great job! I remember eating Bill Kagan's homemade gefilte fish at the house in Kendall. It was boiled.

What what what? Fried gefilte fish!?!? I can only imagine the pandemonium if I served this at my shabbas table. Guess I'll just have to eat it in secret.

Deb and I have taken to baking the gefilte fish. Just form a loaf, sprinkle some spices on top, and bake at 350 for 45 min or so. It has a much better flavor and texture than the slimeballs you get from the jar and doesn't stink up the house like boiling does.
